My method of training is called the BOX. You have probably heard the saying, "think outside the box", same concept. Sometimes you have to work outside the box, outside the box in the four corners are a few things to keep in mind that make one horse different from another that can alter your method and speed for training, they are 1.Nutrition, 2.Breeding, 3.Environment, 4.Disposition. When training and focusing inside the box the four corners that I feel are a necessity in every horse that I train and in which I am constantly working around are 1.Trust, 2.Respect, 3.Knowledge, 4.Groundwork. In the center of the box, I refer to the Core are two things to keep in mind, whether inside or outside the box and my primary focus at all times are 1.Communication, 2.Patience.
Knowledge-"inside the box"
research, don't just take someones word for it, find the answer. Their are 4 things i don't got to a veterinarian for, 1.Hooves, 2.teeth, 3.nutrition & 4.therapeutic remedies. In my experience their qualifications and training usually didn't cover those areas enough. farriers, equine dentist, equine message & chiropractic therapist and equine nutrition specialist have a job for a reason.
